The stop of Brobacka

The tunnel of Brobacka
When the Västergötland - Göteborgs Järnväg (VGJ) was built for over 100 years ago they had a problem to build through the mountain of Åsjö, between Brobacka and Anten.
This tunnel was one of the first where they used the new invention called dynamite. The tunnel is 200 m long and in the middle they used to much dynamite and blew a hole through the mountain and created an opening towards the lake.

The stop of Brobacka was built by AGJ as an end station for the railbus between Anten and Brobacka.
This area was early a very popular motif for postcards and the ambient mountain gave a very bewitching motif. Here can you experience a grandiose nature with the mountain falls steeply to the lake.

In this area there was a battle during the Nordiska Sjuårskriget (The Nordic 7-years war) in the year of 1566 between Sweden and Denmark.
